During the pandemic I received daily telephone call from both his support worker and from the out of school learning. Everyone made sure he stayed on track physically, socially and emotionally the support given was fantastic.

Acorns school were amazing through lock down. They rang every day to check, not just if my daughter was ok, but the rest of our family were and did we need any support. They also provided any work that my daughter needed. Thank you to all the staff at Acorns.

My grandson starts his college course at Southport next week. Could you please pass on to all staff who helped him so much my thanks and best wishes. All his family really appreciate the progress he made and the confidence he gained during his short time at the Acorns.
J.Grady (Grandparent / Parent Governor)

As the registered manager of a Children’s care home where two pupils were registered at Acorns throughout the lockdown period I could not have asked for more support from an educational provider. During the very strange and uncertain times for young people there was always a member of staff contacting them every day to discuss any concerns or worries they may have had. There were tutors calling to discuss academic progress with work that was being sent via the post or accessible on line and also general welfare calls from their form tutors to discuss their emotional wellbeing.

As our young people have a bespoke educational package which includes alternative provisions such as Hair and beauty, tutors were able to arrange provision for the young people to be given model heads for them to complete practical elements of their course work. Their commitment to the young people, particularly those in year 11 and awaiting GCSE results was fantastic and I can’t thank the staff enough for all their hard work demonstrated to those in my care.
